MEDICAL
CARE SPENDING ACCOUNT
The Medical Care Spending Account
is designed to help employees pay for health care expenses that are not 100% covered or
are ineligible for payment by their health insurance plans. These expenses might include
medical, dental, vision, hearing and mental health services.
The amount
available to employees through their medical FSA may be used to pay any eligible health
care expense which would also qualify as a medical deduction under Internal Revenue
Service rules. Sample medical care expenses may include deductibles,
copayments, amounts
over the maximum the health plan pays, expenses for routine physicals, and possibly other
expenses not covered by their health insurance plan. For a detailed list of expenses eligible under
the Medical Care Spending Account refer to the section: Sample
